UK SHOW DEBUT OF VOLKSWAGEN CADDY MAXI AT CV SHOW – VOLKSWAGEN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN EGYPT (DOGUS AUTO) PLANS RESPECTABLE MARKET SHARE IN EMERGING EGYPTIAN MARKET THROUGH FIRST OFFICIAL APPEARANCE AT AL-AHRAM FORMULA MOTORSHOW IN CAIRO
The all-new Caddy Maxi creates a new class of compact van for Volkswagen between the Caddy and Transporter ranges and will be a key feature of the Volkswagen stand. All three derivatives of the new Caddy Maxi range will be on display – the panel van, window van and passenger carrying Life which offers seven seats and plenty of luggage space.
As its name suggests, the new Caddy Maxi is 47 cm longer than the award-winning Caddy and offering a larger load capacity of 4.2 m³ with a payload of 800 kg.
Another Caddy that is sure to generate a lot of interest is the environmentally friendly Caddy BlueMotion. This near-production concept is a result of Volkswagen’s environmental research programme and uses advanced and affordable technology to offer improved fuel consumption and lower emissions from its diesel engine without compromising any driving fun or practicality of the vehicle.
Other Volkswagen models on the stand will include the largest Crafter in the range – the long wheelbase with high roof – and a Crafter dropside conversion from the Volkswagen Engineered to go™ range, plus three derivatives of Volkswagen’s best seller, the Transporter, which recently passed it’s 10 million production milestone.
‘The CV show is an important and prestigious event and this year we are proud to showcase the new Volkswagen Caddy Maxi as well as the Caddy BlueMotion environmental concept. After another record year of sales in 2007 and maintaining our position as number one van importer, the CV show will be a great opportunity to meet our existing customers plus even more new ones,’ said Ralf Schueler, Head of Marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
Besides the CV show in UK we find Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (Nutzfahrzeuge) also playing an important role at the famous IAA Nutzfahrzeuge exhibition in Hannover (Germany). In Egypt VW Nutzfahrzeuge, represented through the Turkish company Dogus Auto, is planning to get a large share of this promising segment through the VW Multivan and the Caddy Life. Dogus Auto will display some of the latest models of VWN at the Al-Ahram Formula Motor-Show in Cairo starting 24.1.2008
